Astrape: Strike the Spark, Wear the Power
Lightning doesn’t ask for permission.
It doesn’t wait for the right moment.
It just arrives — sharp, charged, and impossible to ignore.
This new collection is a small rebellion in silver.
A nod to power. To speed. To being bloody brilliant, whether anyone’s watching or not.
The Collection
Made entirely from recycled sterling silver (because, obviously), this is a collection for the bold. For those who’d rather be fast than fragile. Who wear jewellery like armour — or like a spark.
Each piece is designed to be worn your way. Most are reversible — one side a high polish, the other with a frosted, matte finish. Quiet one day, striking the next.
The collection includes:
- A lightning bolt pendant
- A statement choker with a cut-out bolt
- A necklace with 13 lightning bolts spaced along the chain (unlucky for some…)
- A bracelet with 3 lightning bolts
- Small lightning bolt studs
- Large lightning bolt studs
- Lightning bolt drop earrings
- Lightning bolt huggies
This jewellery isn't just decorative.
The small studs have already become unofficial fell race talismans — worn by a few friends who swear they help them run faster.
Honestly, who’s to say they don’t?
The Symbolism
There’s a reason lightning shows up in so many myths, legends and weather warnings. It symbolises strength, power, energy — sudden clarity. The kind of force that doesn’t hang around waiting for approval.
In Greek mythology, lightning and thunder weren’t just the domain of male gods with control issues. Astrape and Bronte — the goddesses of lightning and thunder — were the ones making the sky crack.
Bronte literally means thunder, but if you’re from West Yorkshire, it echoes something else too. A reminder that women with force, brilliance, and no intention of staying quiet have always existed here — both on the moors and on the page.
Wearing lightening isn’t just a style choice. It’s a signal. A spark. A refusal to dim down.
Where to Find It
The Lightning Collection will officially launch at Hebden Bridge Open Studios, 4–6 July 2025.
You’ll be able to see every piece in person, try them on, and find the one that feels like it was made for you.
Because maybe it was.
